Luxury home prices going up

CBRE estimates that luxury prices could increase by about 10% to 15% this year - this is on top of the 25% increase last year. They cite sales of 88 units of the Urban Suites at $2,500 psf and 35 units of The Laurels at $2,500 psf to $2,900 psf.

Luxury segment is picking up

An apartment at Ardmore Park was sold for $10.64m ($3,688 psf), which is a record high for the District10 condominium in Orchard Road. This is one of the many signs that the luxury market is picking up, according to the experts.

Indeed, prices of the luxury segment have some way to go before hitting the highs to 2007. (Go take a look at our property price charts if you don't believe us!)

Sentosa Cove sees increased interest

Uber-rich buyers are coming back, and they are buying bigger, more expensive homes, in Sentosa Cove at least. Is this a signal that 2010 will see a strong recovery in the mid-to-high end property sector, a 'top-down' recovery, so to speak? After all, Singapore's economy looks to be recovering stronger than expected.
