Business Times: over 900 units sold by developers in Jan

According to the Business Times, based on a poll of developers on property agents, more than 900 private residential units have been sold by developers this month so far. With more launches on the way, they expect the number to exceed 1,000 units by the end of January.

Looks like 2010 is indeed shaping up very well for developers and property agents!

Update: Cube 8 selling very well

Cube 8 has sold almost all of the 120 units it has released. The 177-unit, District 11, freehold condo along Thomson Road initially released 80 units at an average price of $1,250 psf, but released an extra 40 more due to strong demand. 1BRs and 2BRs are getting snapped up quickly.

This is turning out to be a good month for developers! Major condos launched this month include The Shore Residences and Urban Suites, both of which have done pretty well. Let the good times roll!» Read more

URA: Private property prices up by 7.4 percent

URA has released the statistics for the 4th quarter 2009. No surprises there. The property price index has hit 165.7, not too far from the initial flash estimate of 165.5. Prices of private residential properties have increased by 1.8% for 2009.

Also, a total of 14,688 units were sold by developers this year. Sadly 2009 didn't break the 14,811 sold set in 2007.

December sees 481 new private homes sold

According to the URA, this December contributed a lousy 481 new private homes sold. That makes it a total of 14,725 new private homes sold in 2009, just a tad shy of record 14,811 homes in 2007. But according to Colliers Research, new private home sales hit 14,990, which breaks the record!

Well, whoever you believe, one thing's for sure, 2009 was a wonderful year for property agents and developers. The big question is, will 2010 be another great year?

Green Lodge for sale at $135m

Green Lodge, a freehold condominium along Toh Tuck Road, is the second place this month to be up for collective sale. Mayfair Gardens went up for sale about a week or so ago. Late November saw Pine Grove go up for sale too. 2010 is looking like a bumper year for en blocs!

DTZ: Property investment sales getting bigger

According to DTZ, property investment sales have increased in the last quarter of 2009, a sign that next year could see an increase in activity thanks to a better global economic outlook. Deals above $100m accounted for 77% of all deals in Q4, compared to a measly 48% of all deals in Q4.

Sengkang land parcel triggered

According to HDB, a developer has triggered a land parcel under the Reserve List System. This makes the site along Sengkang West Avenue and Fernvale link available for public tender in two weeks.
